NO to dodgy Sully housing development application

Emphatic rejection of housing development in the coastal zone east of Sully, after the brilliant local opposition and exposure of fraud

It "would fail to respect the coastal setting and open nature of the existing site and its setting against the existing settlement of Sully, where a need for a coastal location for such development cannot be demonstrated" said the rejection.

The Officers repeat the Welsh planning guidance that says "essential to demonstrate that a coastal location is required" for major housing developments in the coastal zone.  They also give weight to protecting the rural setting of our section of the Wales Coastal Path.

What implications for the LDP proposing to add a 240-house estate in the coastal zone at Upper Cosmeston Farm?  A worse transgression of the undeveloped coast than at Sully and much further from facilities.

Will Cllr Burnett now fall on her sword and now reject this dreadful case for dormitory housing, in our precious Coastal zone which the LDP (Local Development Plan) intended to protect with "green wedge" designation?
